My cousin went to Chile to study abroad, how can I find out if she is okay?

March 6, 2010 - 8:42 pm 2 Comments

My cousin went to Chile to study abroad, and I’m not sure of the exact address she was staying, but she would have either been studying abroad through the Butler University study abroad program at Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso or Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria. She was supposedly in a town between Santiago and Concepcion. I tried to use Google’s person finder service for the earthquake but her name didn’t come up (I don’t know if it’s because a profile wasn’t set up yet or because she is not a citizen of the country), so I was wondering if anyone knew of another place I could find out if she is okay, perhaps through one of those universities. Please let me know if there are any other services I could look into that might help me track her down, thank you.

No US citizen has died, they have confirmed that only 214 casualtys died and none of them US citizens

Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez also known as Diego Rivera was a Mexican painter and muralist born in Guanajuato City, Guanajuato, Mexico on December 8, 1886.

so if any of u guys have any suggestions as wat should i put in in plzz leave me an answer
thank you

…….was a world-famous Mexican painter and regarded as one of the most influential painters in Mexican history.
Diego Rivera was a Converso, a member of an ethnic group comprised of Jews whose ancestors had been forced to convert to Catholicism( was raised as a Catholic, but was aware of his Jewish heritage). As an adult, Rivera was a self-proclaimed atheist. , an active communist, and husband of Frida Kahlo. Rivera’s large wall works in fresco helped establish the Mexican Mural Renaissance. Between 1922 and 1953, Rivera painted murals in Mexico City, Chapingo, Cuernavaca, San Francisco, Detroit, New York City. His 1931 retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City was their second.

Christopher Columbus named the first islands he discoverd….?

February 18, 2010 - 5:11 pm 1 Comment

he named them ‘San Salvador’, ‘Santa Maria de Concepcion’, ‘Fernandina, ‘Isabella’, and ‘Juana’. Where and why did he name those islads by those names?

He named these islands based on the day he arrived on them. Whatever Saint’s feast day it was, he named the island after them. Spanish and Italians, both heritages of Columbus, are very strongly Catholic.
