La Morenada es una danza cuyos orígenes se remontan a los tiempos de la colonización española. Muestras iconográficas demuestran antecedentes que no necesariamente son “morenadas”, pero que si establecen un precedente totalmente distinto pero relacionado.

Es así que ya se cuenta de danzas de negros en Potosí durante el Siglo XVII. Diversas manifestaciones como la “Danza de Moros y Cristianos” o “Los doce pares de Francia” son sus probables antecesores.

Es en el Carnaval de Oruro donde esta expresión cultural se desarrolla desde la precariedad hasta la magnificencia. Prueba de ello, más de 150 años registrados por investigadores, etnografos y científicos; de un desarrollo lógico, espontáneo, anónimo y popular de disfraces, caretería, música y procesos sociales verdaderamente complejos. Es en la ciudad orureña donde alcanza su mayor expresión y máximo nivel, teniendo otros puntos de expansión cultural como en las festividades del Gran Poder de La Paz, Virgen de Urkupiña en Cochabamba y en Chutillos en Potosí. Se ve en esta festividad sintetizada la habilidad del poblador (indígena, mestizo, criollo) que toma lo mejor de las danzas españolas señaladas y reinventan una danza con el denominativo de “Danza de Morenos”. Este proceso de imitación, transformación y reinvención data del s. XVII hasta nuestros días.

La Universidad UNIOR, a través de su Dirección de Investigaciones científicas, sostiene que “este fenómeno se explica y se afirma con otros ejemplos, pues Latinoamérica es producto del mismo proceso: el tango, la cueca, la marinera, el joropo, la guaracha, todas ellas con su antepasado colonial de origen, pero con todo el contenido de transformación en manos de los indígenas, mestizos y criollos”.

La danza de la Morenada, profundamente sabemos, se conecta con un pasado triste: aún hoy muchos danzarines “cargan” en su cuerpo simbólicamente esos 30 kg de traje, y asumen una negra máscara símbolo del estupor del esclavo, para cargar sus penas, sus tristezas y ofrecer este sacrificio a la Virgencita y pedirle que aliviane su dolor.

Su cadencia entre los varones, casi monótona, es elocuente demostración del sufrimiento que padecieron. Entre las mujeres los movimientos psicalípticos, significa como entremezclando la lujuria que condena la religion. Matracas sonoras marcan el compás monótono del ritmo de la morenada es el singular paso cansino y esforzado de los moreno.

Oscar Elías, en su libro “Tipología de la música boliviana”; indica: “La música de morenada, está escrita en dos cuartos, teniendo 3 partes, la primera y segunda de 6 u 8 compases y la tercera llamada “fuerte de bajos” 8 o 10″.

La tristeza y monotonía de los cantos africanos entremezclados con los rítmos nativos andinos dio lugar a la morenada, además se puede determinar fácilmente como música que tradicionalmente acompaña con su ritmo el trabajo realizado por los negros al pisar la uva para hacer el vino. Una tal vez la más antigua morenada anotada dice en sus versos.

"Most missing child alerts circulated via e-mail fall into one of two categories: genuine reports of missing children that continue to be forwarded long after the child has been found, or hoaxes imploring readers to look for children who aren’t missing or don’t exist. The above-quoted message bears all the hallmarks of the latter category.

"The text of the email (reproduced as we first received it in May 2006) does not include some of the most basic information one would expect to find in a genuine missing child plea: where the young girl (Ashley Flores) went missing, when she went missing, when and where she was last seen, a physical description of her [even though a headshot picture of her is provided], contact information for her parents, contact information for the local police authorities handling the case, etc. All we’re provided with is [ambiguous statements]…"

PLEASE…if you’re inclined to pass along stuff of this nature, be aware that the overwhelming majority of these pleas are HOAXES. Once you become aware of how ambiguous most of these emails are, you’ll be able to spot a fake almost immediately. But if you’re not sure, PLEASE check out www.snopes.com BEFORE passing it along to others. The only thing sending these types of emails to everyone you know accomplishes is taking up precious bandwidth and clogging everyone’s inboxes.

"Most missing child alerts circulated via e-mail fall into one of two categories: genuine reports of missing children that continue to be forwarded long after the child has been found, or hoaxes imploring readers to look for children who aren’t missing or don’t exist. The above-quoted message bears all the hallmarks of the latter category.

"The text of the email (reproduced as we first received it in May 2006) does not include some of the most basic information one would expect to find in a genuine missing child plea: where the young girl (Ashley Flores) went missing, when she went missing, when and where she was last seen, a physical description of her [even though a headshot picture of her is provided], contact information for her parents, contact information for the local police authorities handling the case, etc. All we’re provided with is [ambiguous statements]…"

PLEASE…if you’re inclined to pass along stuff of this nature, be aware that the overwhelming majority of these pleas are HOAXES. Once you become aware of how ambiguous most of these emails are, you’ll be able to spot a fake almost immediately. But if you’re not sure, PLEASE check out www.snopes.com BEFORE passing it along to others. The only thing sending these types of emails to everyone you know accomplishes is taking up precious bandwidth and clogging everyone’s inboxes.
