Flute Concerto I mov. (Borikén) Flutist Ana María Hernández, composer Ernesto Cordero

The aboriginal name given to the Island of Puerto Rico is Borikén,the concerto bears the same name. This movement begins in a deep aesthetic atmosphhere of a somewhat mystic character. The second theme is more dynamic and virtuosic. Within the re-exposition of both themes,a brief cadence for the flute is incorporated. Puerto Rico Symphonic Orchestra under Maestro Guillermo Figueroa.
